What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, it is one of over 100 cannabinoids (chemical compounds) found in the cannabis plant. You can think of CBD as the polar opposite of THC, the cannabinoid that gets you high. Research suggests that CBD offers health benefits, but it does not have psychoactive effects.

What is CBD used for?

CBD is used to treat a variety of conditions, both physical and mental. Most famously, it is used to treat seizures like epilepsy. It is also used as a supplement to manage anxiety, depression, mood disorders, Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, erratic sleep patterns (insomnia), and it is also believed to reduce insulin resistance. CBD is also used to treat pain-related and inflammatory conditions like neuropathy and arthritis.

Does CBD oil get you high?

CBD is not psychoactive, it can not make you high. It is derived from the same plant as THC, the cannabis plant, and for that reason, there is a misconception that CBD can get you high. When you isolate CBD without THC, it can be used as a supplement as part of your daily routine.

Will CBD show on my drug test?

CBD on its own will not show on a drug test. However, many products fail to isolate CBD completely. Legally, manufacturers have to prove that their CBD products contain less than 0.3% THC. Continuous use can cause this tiny amount of THC to build in the body and give a false-positive test result. Kalmly products are made from broad-spectrum CBD, meaning they contain 0% THC - thus you can rest assured that you will not get a false positive using our products.

What drugs should not be taken with CBD?

Certain medical drugs should not be used in conjunction with a CBD supplement. This is because of the way in which the drugs affect the liver. In some cases, CBD can increase the effects of the drug, or hinder its absorption: Warfarin, Theophylline, Clobazam, Valproate.

What is a full-spectrum, broad or wide spectrum, and isolate?

Full-spectrum CBD oil contains all of the cannabinoids in the plant. When they are combined, they often have a more powerful effect.

CBD isolate is pure CBD on its own with no other cannabinoids.

Broad or wide spectrum CBD oil is a mixture of full-spectrum CBD oil and CBD isolate.
